Mission
The Youth Alternative has existed since 1979 to serve low income students (14-21) who are poor attenders or who have left high school all together and now wish to return to earn a high school diploma.

Role in Alliance
EDCO was a founding member of the Alternative Education Alliance and the Youth Service Providers Collaborative Network.

  • Courses toward graduation from a Boston public high school
  • Job preparation and placement with a Private Industry Council (PIC) career specialist
  • College counseling by a talent search counselor
  • Counseling by Wediko Childrens' Services counselors

Eligibility Requirements
EDCO serves students with 3 different funding sources; each has their own set of eligibility standards.

Fee Structure
All services without charge, but each student must qualify for a funding source.
